Create a manual campaign

Create LAB01, configure a manual-only lab route, and grant the lab group access to it.

Start this lesson

1. Create the campaign

The campaign holds the rules for the lab exercise. Create it inactive while you configure it.

  1. Click Campaigns in VICIdial Admin.
  2. Click Add A New Campaign.
  3. Complete the fields below and submit.
  4. Open LAB01 from Show Campaigns.

Set Active to N while configuring. This form shows its defaults; manual-dial settings are on the saved campaign’s modify screen. VICIdial’s official demo, 2.14-947a; captured November 3, 2026.

You should seeLAB01 appears in the campaign list.

02 / 05

2. Configure manual dialing

Use these settings only with the isolated internal route prepared in lesson 3. The lab owner must confirm that 19001001 reaches the internal test destination and does not use a carrier.

  1. On the saved LAB01 campaign, find the manual dialing settings.
  2. Enter the values below.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Check Local Call Time includes your planned practice time.

You should seePhone code 1 and number 9001001 produce 19001001 for the prepared internal route. Leave Manual Dial List ID until list 90001 exists.

03 / 05

3. Give the group access

  1. Click User Groups and open LABTEAM.
  2. Under Allowed Campaigns, leave ALL-CAMPAIGNS unchecked and check only LAB01.
  3. Save, then reopen LABTEAM to confirm the selection.
  4. Return to LAB01. Once the lab owner confirms the internal route, set Active to Y and save.

You should seeLABTEAM is allowed to use LAB01, and the campaign is active. Selecting an Admin User Group on the campaign does not grant this access.

04 / 05

4. Check before continuing

  1. Reopen LAB01 and check its Active and manual dialing settings.
  2. Reopen LABTEAM and confirm LAB01 is in Allowed Campaigns.

You should seeThe campaign is ready for its empty list. If the route is not confirmed, set Active to N and save.

05 / 05

If it fails

If LAB01 is missing from Allowed Campaigns, confirm the campaign saved and reopen the group. Ask the lab owner to check permissions if it still does not appear.

If the route is unconfirmed, leave the campaign inactive. The prefix settings do not create a route. Do not add a carrier or test with an outside number.
