Create a user group and agent

Make a small lab group and a level-one agent, then check the saved records before adding a phone.

1. Create the user group

A user group controls which campaigns its members may use. First create the lab group.

  1. In VICIdial Admin, click User Groups.
  2. Click Add A New User Group.
  3. Complete the fields below, then submit the form.
  4. Open User Groups again and select LABTEAM.
  5. In Allowed Campaigns, uncheck ALL-CAMPAIGNS and every individual campaign. Save the group.

2. Add the agent

The agent account belongs to a person. Its password is separate from the phone station passwords in the next lesson.

  1. Click Users, then Add A New User.
  2. Complete the fields below and submit.
  3. Find learner1 under Show Users and open the record.
  4. Set Agent Call Manual to 1. Save the changes.

3. Check the saved records

  1. Open User Groups and select LABTEAM. Confirm its name.
  2. Open Users and select learner1. Confirm the group, level and manual calling permission.
  3. Save any corrections and reopen the record.

You should seeBoth records are present. The agent will receive campaign access in lesson 7.

If it fails

If LABTEAM or learner1 already exists, ask the lab owner before changing it. Use an agreed unused ID throughout the course if needed.

If a menu is missing, ask the lab administrator to check your permissions. If a save fails, read the form error and correct the field it identifies.
